Seventh NFDIxCS Plenary Meeting in Essen
From 21 to 22 April 2026, the NFDIxCS consortium convenes in Essen for its seventh plenary meeting to review progress, address challenges, and advance FAIR research data management in computer science.
Description
The Seventh Plenary Meeting of NFDIxCS takes place from 21 to 22 April 2026 in Essen. Around 50 consortium members come together to discuss the current state of activities and to coordinate the next development steps within the framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).
The two-day programme combines plenary sessions with interactive workshop formats, fostering in-depth exchange across task areas. Discussions focus on both strategic and technical aspects of building a sustainable and FAIR-aligned research data infrastructure for computer science. One of the key topics will be the overall architecture of the central service of NFDIxCS: the Research Data Management Container (RDMC).
Beyond technical progress reports, the plenary provides a collaborative space for cross-disciplinary dialogue and joint problem-solving. By bringing together diverse expertise from across the consortium, the meeting supports coordinated service development and contributes to the consolidation of best practices in research data and software management within computer science.
