RDMC Hackathon Göttingen 2025
From 21–22 January 2025, the NFDIxCS consortium conducts an RDMC Hackathon in Göttingen to advance core components of the Research Data Management Container and prepare the next development phase.
Description
The RDMC Hackathon takes place from 21–22 January 2025 at the premises of the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG). The two-day working meeting brings together members of the NFDIxCS consortium to focus intensively on technical milestones related to the Research Data Management Container (RDMC).
The primary objective of the hackathon is to advance the RDMC development roadmap, including the preparation of an alpha release of the RDMC Creation Wizard. Key development tasks address the integration of structured questionnaires, improvements to the container creation workflow, and mechanisms for securely sealing and verifying RDMC instances. In addition, participants work on strengthening interoperability between the RDMC and connected evaluation and publication environments.
The programme combines structured plenary sessions with concentrated development phases, allowing participants to prototype solutions, refine workflows, and define concrete next steps. Particular attention is given to metadata handling, user interface design for linking research artifacts, and verification processes that support transparency and reproducibility.
By concentrating collaborative expertise in a focused hackathon format, the meeting contributes directly to the technical consolidation of the RDMC and supports the broader objective of establishing a robust, FAIR-aligned infrastructure for research data management in computer science.
