Fifth NFDIxCS Plenary Meeting in Potsdam
From 31 March to 1 April 2025, the NFDIxCS consortium convenes in Potsdam for its fifth plenary meeting to review progress, address challenges, and advance FAIR research data management in computer science.
Description
The Fifth Plenary Meeting of NFDIxCS takes place from 31 March to 1 April 2025 in Potsdam. Around 50 consortium members come together to discuss the current state of activities and to coordinate the next development steps within the framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).
The two-day programme combines plenary sessions with interactive workshop formats, fostering in-depth exchange across task areas. Discussions focus on both strategic and technical aspects of building a sustainable and FAIR-aligned research data infrastructure for computer science. Key topics include approaches to data extraction from scientific texts, the application of generative AI for semantic classification, the development of domain-specific metadata schemes, and the refinement of operational workflows for Research Data Management Containers (RDMCs). The integration of metadata systems into broader knowledge graph structures is also addressed.
Beyond technical progress reports, the plenary provides a collaborative space for cross-disciplinary dialogue and joint problem-solving. By bringing together diverse expertise from across the consortium, the meeting supports coordinated service development and contributes to the consolidation of best practices in research data and software management within computer science.
