"Let's Talk About Software" at the Potsdam Day of Sciences (May 4)

"Let's Talk About Software" is an engaging experiment that explores how we describe and understand software. This event aims to highlight the importance of clear communication in software documentation.

Software is inherently complex. Its development is a labor-intensive process where traceability and reusability are essential. These qualities, however, depend not just on robust software but also on comprehensible descriptions. Is it as straightforward as it seems? We challenge you to try it for yourself!

Participants in this experiment will have the chance to describe familiar software and attempt to guess other software based on different descriptions. The Potsdam Day of Sciences is a fantastic opportunity to introduce the NFDIxCS project, which focuses on research data management and its software.

Results of the experiment will be uploaded following the event, showcasing the diverse variations in software descriptions generated by participants. That will highlight the creative interpretations of technology by its users.
