Description
Providing the right metadata information and associating it with the actual data is critical for implementing the FAIR principles. Metadata, however, can be very diverse, data set specific, and must be connected to the necessary semantic information. The goal of Task Area D2 is therefore to investigate the breadth of possible metadata, find the necessary descriptors for it, standardize where necessary, and connect to other task areas where needed, e.g., ontology and semantics or unique identifiers.
