Metabase is the NFDIxCS service for managing RDMC metadata. It stores ontologies that serve as metadata schemas as well as domain-specific container metadata. The service provides automatic validation and reasoning to enrich metadata with domain knowledge encoded in the ontology.

It also allows mappings to be defined between different schemas and ontologies. In addition, Metabase supports other semantic NFDIxCS services by exporting metadata for further use, for example in knowledge graphs or search services.
