4th NFDIxCS Plenary Meeting at Informatik Festival 2024 at Hochschule RheinMain

A highlight of the meeting was the workshop session, where experts from various task areas worked intensively on prototyping solutions and refining critical Research Data Management infrastructure.

During the 4th Plenary Meeting at Hochschule RheinMain, the NFDIxCS consortium gathered to advance Research Data Management (RDM) for Computer Science (CS). Our collaborative sessions tackled both technical and conceptual challenges, driving forward the mission of creating a robust and FAIR RDM ecosystem.
The spotlight was on the Research Data Management Container (RDMC), now available as a demo. It is a crucial element in advancing our future research data management efforts. Several workshops addressed critical topics such as creating a reusable execution environment to seamlessly integrate RDMC and data and the significance of community building and outreach to various stakeholders. We also discussed legal aspects, particularly the challenges related to data privacy, intellectual property, and the ethical management of research data, to ensure that the RDMC adheres to legal standards and incorporates best practices. Additionally, we addressed critical topics such as data versioning, ensuring that researchers can track changes to datasets over time and maintain data integrity.
The 4th Plenary Meeting focused on discussions and the implementation of specific actions. The collaborative workshops helped identify tangible steps that will shape the next phase of NFDIxCS's efforts in advancing FAIR Research Data Management across the computer science landscape.
Stay tuned as these ideas and prototypes evolve, leading to FAIR RDM in computer science!
