As part of the Volkswagen Foundation’s thematic week “Digital Competencies in Academia,” the workshop “Research Data and Software Competencies” brings together participants from all academic stages who work with research data and software. The workshop focuses on three key goals:
identifying essential but often overlooked competencies in existing frameworks and training programmes,
developing effective didactic approaches tailored to the needs and constraints of researchers, and
establishing collaborative strategies to create and share educational resources and training formats.
Participants will explore the continuum between developers and users of research software, innovative approaches to didactics and open educational resources (OER), and strategies to enhance collaboration and communication within the research ecosystem.
