SUMMARY:Third NFDIxCS Plenary Meeting in Göttingen
DESCRIPTION:The third plenary meeting of the NFDIxCS consortium takes place
  from 19–21 February 2024 at the premises of the Gesellschaft für wissensch
 aftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG). Around 40 consortium membe
 rs gather to strengthen cooperation and coordinate the next steps in buildi
 ng a sustainable research data infrastructure for computer science within t
 he framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).\n\nAt the
  centre of the meeting is the continued development of the Research Data Ma
 nagement Container (RDMC), designed to enable FAIR-compliant research data 
 management. Discussions address architectural foundations, metadata standar
 ds, storage solutions, publication workflows, and standardisation processes
 , while also considering legal and ethical dimensions. The consortium’s wor
 k is organised across 18 task areas, reflecting the structural breadth of t
 he overall project.\n\nIn addition to status updates and strategic planning
 , interactive formats such as a persona workshop allow participants to refl
 ect on the needs of different stakeholder groups—including students, CIOs, 
 librarians, and data analysts—and to align services accordingly. Dedicated 
 working groups further examine interdependencies between task areas and exp
 lore cooperation with other NFDI consortia and committees.\n\nThe meeting s
 etting at GWDG’s Computing Center Göttingen provides an inspiring environme
 nt for focused exchange and collaborative planning, reinforcing the consort
 ium’s commitment to developing research data services not only for, but tog
 ether with, the diverse sub-disciplines of computer science.
