Description

From art to astronomy, from software heritage to field research – hardly any area has no interface with the management of research data and the use of research software. However, conversations on these topics can be fairly abstract.

The team at the University of Potsdam therefore has conducted interviews with thirteen international minds from a variety of disciplines who are implementing best practices in research data and software management. The insights provide tangible examples of research data and software management strategies across various fields, serving as brilliant illustrations of promoting Open Science and envisioning the future of research.

Experimenting with science communication formats, the teams at Potsdam University and the German Informatics Society created a magazine-style coffee table book to publish these insights in an engaging manner.

Join us online on March 10, 2025 – the International Day of Awesomeness – for the next NFDIxCS Soiree: Conversations on Research Data and Software Management: The making of an NFDIxCS coffee table book.

This session features the editorial team Jan Bernoth and Firas Al Laban (University of Potsdam), Alexandra Resch and Greta Leßmann (German Informatics Society) as well as interview partner Menare Royal Mabakeng (Namibia University of Science and Technology) sharing her approaches, opinions and needs regarding latest and future developments in research data management.
