SUMMARY:NFDIxCS Soiree #10: How LLM's Can Make Scientific Literature More A
 ccessible
DESCRIPTION:The ever-growing flood of publications makes it difficult to ke
ep track of research and to ensure that research outputs remain findable an
d reusable in line with FAIR principles. Within the NFDIxCS project, a syst
em has been developed that uses Large Language Models to semantically extra
ct key concepts from scientific articles – such as research questions, meth
ods, or main findings.\n\nIn this Soirée, two short impulse talks (around 8
minutes each) will provide insights into:\n\n how LLMs can be used to a
utomatically scan scientific texts for key information, how this infor
mation can be structured and, for example, linked to knowledge graphs,
what initial evaluation results and usage scenarios emerge from pilot stud
ies with researchers. \n\nThe talks will be followed by time for question
s and discussion.\n\nSpeakers:\n\n Samy Ateia (NFDIxCS) Moayad Almo
 haishi (NFDIxCS) \n\n\n\n
