The Fourth Plenary Meeting of NFDIxCS takes place at Hochschule RheinMain in the context of Informatik Festival 2024. Consortium members come together to further develop sustainable research data management (RDM) structures for computer science within the framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).
A central highlight of the meeting is the intensive workshop programme, where experts from different task areas collaboratively prototype solutions and refine key components of the emerging RDM infrastructure. Particular attention is given to the Research Data Management Container (RDMC), which is presented as a demonstrator and discussed as a core building block for future service development.
The workshops address both technical and conceptual dimensions. Topics include the design of reusable execution environments that enable seamless integration of RDMC services and research data, strategies for community engagement and stakeholder outreach, as well as legal and ethical considerations. Discussions cover issues such as data protection, intellectual property, responsible data governance, and compliance with regulatory standards. Furthermore, aspects of data versioning and traceability are examined to ensure long-term integrity and reproducibility of datasets.
