SUMMARY:3rd NFDIxCS Symposium
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) aims to tr
 anslate discipline-specific research data and research software (research a
 rtifacts) management practices into a supporting infrastructure that adhere
  to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Na
 tional Research Data Infrastructure for and with Computer Science (NFDIxCS)
  is the consortium for the computer science community.\n\nThe Research Data
  Management Container (RDMC) is a central conceptual framework to seal the 
 current research output, enable reproducibility and preserve artifact in ac
 cordance with good scientific practice. One of the working directions of th
 e consortium is centred on implementing a workflow to create RDMCs for publ
 ication processes, which could be artifact evaluation tracks at conferences
 .\n\nBuilding on these efforts, the third NFDIxCS symposium will explore ho
 w experiences and developments from various disciplines within the computer
  science community can inform the design of workflows and infrastructures (
 such as those for artifact evaluation, badging systems, metadata standards,
  registries, persistent identifiers (PIDs) or computational and archiving p
 latforms) that support FAIR principles and are embedded into conferences, j
 ournals, and institutional workflows.\n\nThe symposium will include discuss
 ions on how to collaborate with these presented approaches in the context o
 f NFDIxCS, with the goal of enabling seamless support for research artifact
  management across computer science disciplines.\n\nTopics of Interest\n\nT
 he NFDIxCS-Symposium invites presentations, demonstrations, and discussions
  that address conceptual, technical, and organizational dimensions of open 
 research artifact and their evaluation. Each presentation has a total durat
 ion of 30 minutes (20min talk + 10min discussion). A focus lies on solution
 s, workflows, and cross-domains as well as cultural challenges that influen
 ce the adoption and standardization of artifact evaluation practices:\n\n 	
 Infrastructure and integration tools:    	 		Platforms and frameworks for t
 he submission, validation and publication of research artifact; 		Metadata 
 schemas, semantic annotations and ontologies that enhance machine-actionabi
 lity; 		Middleware and services that support the integration of artifact wo
 rkflow into research infrastructure. 		  	 	 	Cross-Domain practices and cu
 ltural challenges: 	 		Evaluation criteria and quality checklists across di
 verse computer science and interdisciplinary domains 		Insights from initia
 tives such as ACM artifact review and badging process 		Institutional, disc
 iplinary and cultural barriers to adoption of artifact evaluation 	 	 \n\nP
 resentations should ideally contribute to the overarching aim of the sympos
 ium: connecting community-driven practices to practical workflows and infra
 structures that support FAIR principles within computer science. We especia
 lly welcome contributions that:\n\n 	Are grounded in the computer science c
 ommunity, reflecting disciplinary needs, practices, or challenges; 	Connect
  to the NFDIxCS topics or overall architecture concept of NFDI, contributin
 g conceptually or practically to ongoing efforts; 	Demonstrate a level of m
 aturity that allows for constructive discussion and potential integration i
 nto workflows or infrastructure development. \n\nSubmission \n\n\n\nWe warm
 ly invite contributions from all interested participants. Please submit a s
 hort abstract (minimum 200–500 words) for each proposed contribution. Abstr
 acts may be submitted in German or English. However, all presentations are 
 expected to be delivered in English.\n\nIf you have any special requirement

 . \n\nSubmission should be made via NFDIxCS Symposium 2025 no later than Au
 gust 15, 2025. If you encounter any technical issues, please send your subm
 ission to nfdixcs-team@gi.de. \n\nAll submissions will be peer-reviewed by 
 the symposium committee and evaluated based on their alignment and relevanc
 e to the symposium themes. \n\nAs part of our dissemination strategy, we pl
 an to publish a summary report capturing the key outcomes of the symposium 
 presentations and valuable discussion points. This report will be openly av
 ailable via Zenodo community and the NFDIxCS blog.\n\nTimeline\n\n 	July 2n
